My head is hurting like hell...I think we all use metaphors in our daily life.
Until some extent metaphors are part of what make our life more interesting. We all understand what the other person is talking about, even though the phrase is not said in a 'direct' way.
Metaphors are so important that we even use them in a romantic way "your eyes are like stars", "I love you more than the sun loves the sky", "you are more beautiful than a morning spring" ... all of these, kind of corny I know, but most likely someone said this at least once.
