The experiences of the infancy do not have to determine later relationships. But, sure, it depends of each person. We are talking about maturity, everybody can learn about bad experiences and try to do it better in the future.
Nobody is prisoner of nothing if he or she does not want, including the past. You can make changes whenever you want, but need to take the decision first and then start to work on it.
